As a JVS Career & Employment mentor you will serve as a critical partner for a job seeker, or business owner. Your willingness to share your professional experience with others provides support and a foundation for success.

$500 Supports a week of intensive job coaching for people with disabilities, enabling them to achieve their employment goals.
$250 covers two hours of on-site job coaching to make sure that a job is broken down into manageable steps for a person with disabilities. Giving them the right tools to find fulfillment through work.
$100 funds an American Sign Language interpreter for a job interview
$50 Provides job seekers access to career workshops tailored to the current labor market.

Janitorial Training Program
How it works
Our initial assessment helps identify your skills and strengths and allows you to create your individual career plan. On-the-job instruction provides a variety of skills to be learned with hands on experience. Our training curriculum is updated regularly to keep pace with ever-changing technology and processes. Training takes place at a variety of work locations across the Chicago metropolitan area. Our instruction methods and feedback are individualized to your learning styles and preferences. When appropriate and you're ready, job search and placement services are available to assist with securing part or full-time employment.
Janitorial training provides:
- On-the-job work experience tailored to your learning styles
- Connections to custodial employment opportunities
- Industry specific skills that are easily transferable to many work environments
- Support and guidance throughout the training to assist you in obtaining your employment goals
