Grieving the Death of a Loved One: An Evening of Support

This evening of support will include music and poems for healing, reflections on the grieving process and a personal grief journey illuminating paths to healing. This program is tailored to those grieving a death in the past two years, but everyone is welcome.

Upon completion of our structured program at approximately 8pm, participants will be invited to stay online to share personal reflections and experiences in smaller groups.

This event is free of charge.

Being Your Child’s Best Advocate: Early Intervention System and Resources

Services for People with Disabilities (SFPD) presents a free Community Education Workshop: Being Your Child’s Best Advocate: Early Intervention System and Resources.

Join guest speaker Jennie Marble, MA CCC-SLP to discuss Early Intervention resources and how to be your child’s best advocate during early development. We will focus on services for birth-three year olds, navigating the system, and tips to help you advocate for your child. Parents, caregivers, professionals, and those interested in learning more about the Early Intervention system are encouraged to attend.

Fall Food Explorers Class

Join us to become a food explorer! This class will provide your child regular exposure to a variety of foods. We’ll be prepping, cooking, creating art or science, and finding joy while exploring foods. With a responsive feeding eye, your child will be invited to engage with food at an individual level which encourages autonomy, confidence, and a little stretch. All while having fun socializing with others.

This class is open to kindergarteners through 3rd grade as we benefit from the mixed aged roles and will meet weekly, beginning Thursday, August 22, 2024 and ending September 26, 2024.

This program is designed and run with input from speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist and psychologists but is not intended to replace therapeutic interventions. Referrals will be made as needed.

Our skill building classes are open to all community members interested in the topic.

The month long program costs $300. Payment is not due upon registration and will be processed closer to the event start date.
