Grief and loss will impact everyone’s lives, and knowing how to support someone experiencing a loss can be difficult. This can be especially true when supporting someone with intellectual/developmental disabilities. This presentation will highlight the various types of loss people face and the grief that can follow, what typical grief looks like, how to respond and show support, and how to recognize when it may be helpful to work with a mental health professional.
