Some Knapp School & Yeshiva students are getting a taste of working in the food service industry—right at their school. The school lunch cart operates twice a week, and six to eight students regularly help with everything from taking orders and shopping for ingredients, to cooking and delivering the food.

When HIAS Immigration & Citizenship Director Shannon Ericson wanted to provide her staff with specific training, she turned to her JCFS Chicago colleagues in the Jewish Community Services program.

JCFS Chicago addiction services, in partnership with Live4Lali, is encouraging Jewish communal organizations to hold Overdose Prevention and Reversal (Narcan) Training for staff and community members.  We all have the responsibility to know how to save a life and with Narcan, it couldn’t be easier. 

Nick was seeking his first job and independence at work, so he reached out to JCFS Chicago for help. By collaborating with employment specialists at the Duman Opportunity Center, Nick identified his interests, skills, and experience to find the best job suited for him.
