Understanding the Role of a Legal Guardian Part 2

Join speaker Barry Lowy, the Director of The Office of State Guardian with the Illinois Guardianship and Advocacy Commission, as we discuss ethical considerations guiding guardian decision making. We will learn about decision making standard imposed on guardians, as well as the rights retained by the individual. This event is free and open to the public. Continuing education credits are available for QIDP's.

It's not a club anyone wants to be a part of, but if you are a person in their 20s or 30s who has lost a parent, sibling, or partner, sometimes it's good to be with people who get it.  Co-sponsored by Mishkan Chicago, Silverstein Base Chicago, and JCFS Chicago, this group meets monthly to share memories of our loved ones and discuss our experiences of grief in a supportive space.

Waiting, turn-taking, following directions, and transitions are incorporated into preschool activities, like circle time, art, and pretend play. Our Speech-Language Pathologist will incorporate monthly themes to enhance vocabulary development, knowledge of early basic concepts, and pre-literacy skills.
