Grieving a Loss to Suicide

A monthly drop-in support group held on Zoom for adults in the Jewish community and beyond who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. This group offers a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to connect with others who understand this unique kind of loss. Participants are welcome to share, listen, and find support as they navigate the complexities of grief and healing.

This grief support group is for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one within the past two years. The group offers a supportive space to share, heal, and connect with others who understand the experience of loss.The group will be co-facilitated by Leah Shefsky and Rabbi Rebecca Benoff of Chicago Sinai Congregation. We will meet in person at Chicago Sinai, for six sessions beginning October 27, from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

It's not a club anyone wants to be a part of, but if you are a person in their 20s or 30s who has lost a parent, sibling, or partner, sometimes it's good to be with people who get it.  Co-sponsored by Mishkan Chicago, Silverstein Base Chicago, and JCFS Chicago, this group meets monthly to share memories of our loved ones and discuss our experiences of grief in a supportive space.
