The Get Together provides an opportunity for parents to meet with other parents with young children. Parents share ideas and concerns with each other and professional staff while their children play and explore together.  This group meets weekly on Mondays, and is led by a JCFS Chicago child development professional. The Get Together will not meet on the following Mondays: 12/23/19; 12/30/19; 4/13/20; 5/25/20.

Please inquire about fees, registration, and group guidelines.

Children & Adolescents

Join us for an hour of food exploration in two sets of different groups every Tuesday or Thursday. We’ll have a great time prepping, cooking and exploring foods to make food time a fun time. We welcome all children who are working on oral-motor skills, sensory aversions or medically complex feeding needs including decreasing feeding tube dependency.

The Food Adventurers will be led by a Speech-Language Pathologist with consultation from Occupational Therapists and Psychologists. All ages welcome.

This group, for children 2-3 years of age, will focus on participating in circle time and engaging in play-time activities that promote communication, early problem solving and following directions. This group is playful and fun, often focusing on a particular theme to enhance vocabulary development and to increase a child’s opportunity to use language within a group setting. Children can practice the social rules of communication such as turn-taking, gestures and body language. Led by Speech-Language Pathologist Allison Liwanag.

    Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people.
