Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a third-wave behavioral psychotherapy that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, psychosis, and chronic pain. ACT integrates mindfulness skills with values-guided living. It helps clients develop a compassionate relationship to painful thoughts and feelings versus attempting to avoid or control them. This shift allows clients to focus instead on clarifying personal values and using that knowledge to take action that promotes a rich, meaningful life. |

We have all experienced the power of music on some level, and there are ways to tap into that power that can be supportive and therapeutic. Through activities, we will explore how music can support people on their journey through grief and loss. Music can be cathartic, help you feel less isolated and communicate for you when it’s hard to know what to say. No musical training or skill is required. Led by Dianna Rose, a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State, and a board-certified music therapist with specialized training in Neurologic Music Therapy. |
