Job Training for Individuals Over 50 Through Project EM and AARP

JCFS Chicago received an AARP Foundation grant in February to help fund job training for individuals over 50 through Project EM. Part of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies (NJHSA), Project EM is a free national initiative that provides comprehensive career support tailored to meet unique career goals, and JCFS has been involved with the program since its inception in 2022.

“We are putting together two video trainings on job search topics that will be posted to the Project EM and AARP websites,” said Jennifer Krapfl, Assistant Director of Career Services.

The AARP Foundation grant also extends to two other agencies: Gulf Coast JFCS will run a virtual group for job seekers over 50 and JFS Columbus will provide three virtual trainings. Jennifer said staff from JCFS has met with JFS Columbus staff to choose topics and collaborate on information covered in the trainings.

JCFS’ training will focus on resumes, cover letters and networking videos. They will be tailored to individuals over 50, but available to the general public as well.

More information on Project EM can be found on the NJHSA website.
