For children who need special help learning, the Therapeutic Preschool at the Virginia Frank Child Development Center program is an amazing resource.
Children begin learning as soon as they are born, and parents and teachers are partners in introducing key lessons to even the youngest of students. Five days a week, 11 months a year, the therapeutic, developmentally appropriate preschool at JCFS’s Virginia Frank Child Development Center offers a small, structured, language-enriched program that provides children who are unsuccessful in traditional early educational programs the opportunity to succeed. The program emphasizes a warm and caring environment that helps children develop socially, emotionally and cognitively toward their potential.
The Virginia Frank Child Development Center is a nationally recognized pioneer in the field of family-centered child development. For more than 60 years, our leading experts have offered a continuum of preventative and therapeutic services for children from birth to six years, including counseling for children, their parents and families.
The Therapeutic Preschool receives referrals from schools, hospitals and other social service agencies around the Chicago area. The Virginia Frank Child Development Center staff is also highly sought after for its consultations, education and in-service training programs for schools, organizations and early childhood professionals.
