Sibshops offer brothers and sisters of children with special needs an opportunity to meet other siblings in a relaxed, supportive, and recreational setting. Participants share common joys, common concerns, and learn to handle sibling-specific "sticky situations." Sibshops are a mix of games, discussion, food, and fun!
Sibshops are currently offered one Sunday afternoon each month in Northbrook. Teen Sibshops are offered as requested.
JCFS utilizes the Sibshop model developed by Don Meyer of Sibling Support Project. For more detailed information about Sibshops, visit the national Sibshop website at siblingsupport.org.
Registration is per Sibshop.
Children can attend one, two, three, or all of the Sibshop series.
Fee: $30 per session. Scholarships are available.
