BeTween: Growing Healthy Jewish Girls

BeTween helps Jewish girls strengthen and support their bodies, minds, and spirits through fun programs with other Jewish girls. The adults in their lives – parents, teachers, coaches –access information and resources to help girls navigate the turbulent pre-teen years with confidence and understanding about their bodies, relationships, and roles in their communities.

BeTween supports Jewish girls in grades 3 through 8, and is administered by JCC Chicago. Programs for girls are offered by Response for Teens, JCC and other partner organizations. Response for Teens and JCFS Chicago offer parenting programs and support groups. Visit our calendar for all dates and times.

Response for Teens offers engaging, interactive workshops and presentations for schools, synagogues, youth groups, and other settings. Healthy Relationships, Boundaries and Consent, Bullying, Team-building, Pregnancy and STI Prevention, and other topics can be tailored to your needs.

In the areas of dating violence and healthy relationships, we offer two powerful programs:

  • The Clothesline Project is an interactive, immersive experience to create awareness and education around relational and gender-based violence and sexual assault.
  • In Their Shoes tackles the issue of sex trafficking by asking participants to walk the paths of those who become involved in this modern-day slavery

Both of these programs can be brought to your school, synagogue, community center, library, or other location.

Professional and parent/community training is also available on many of the same topics.
