Marijuana: The Information Gap

Today, many clinicians and others are seeking clear, accurate information about marijuana – the various compounds, what products may look like, how they are used medicinally and socially, whether they are addictive and more. At this training session for professionals, the presenter will discuss trends related to marijuana. In addition, strategies for identifying individuals experiencing Cannabis Use Disorder, potential intervention options, and the unique issues surrounding adolescent and older adult marijuana use will be explored. To enhance learning, participants will have an opportunity to examine and discuss case studies.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the difference between cannabis and cannabinoid products, and the currently-supported applications for each from a health perspective.
  • Understand the impact of cannabis use on short and long-term health and well-being
  • Gain skills for identifying and helping clients with Cannabis Use Disorder
