Clinical Treatment of Trauma - Series
The seminar will provide an overview of Complex Trauma including diagnostic features, how to differentiate between co-morbid diagnoses, and neurological effects of trauma. Attendees will gain tools to deepen and apply their understanding of complex trauma in the treatment of children and adolescents through various stages of relationship building, psychoeducation and symptom reduction. The format will involve readings, discussions, treatment strategies and tools, activities and case presentations. Reading materials for this seminar will focus on “Treating Complex Trauma” by Mary Jo Barrett and Linda Stone Fish, “The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog” by Bruce Perry and many other articles to augment discussion.
