Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Seminar
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a third-wave behavioral psychotherapy that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, psychosis and chronic pain.
ACT integrates mindfulness skills with values-guided living. It helps clients develop a compassionate relationship to painful thoughts and feelings versus attempting to avoid or control them. This shift allows clients to focus instead on clarifying personal values and using that knowledge to take action that promotes a rich, meaningful life.
In this seminar, we will be reviewing the second edition of “ACT Made Simple” by Russ Harris and incorporating experiential exercises, role play and case presentation to learn the tools of this treatment model.
