Societal Issues and Effecting Change | Grades 6–12

When it comes to societal issues, we are sometimes hasty or superficial in pursuing ways to make change. Whether we’re fundraising, volunteering, or educating ourselves and friends, we are constantly involved in addressing the symptoms of social issues, but rarely the root causes. Response for Teens' social activism workshop teaches participants to consider the reasons why societal issues exist in the first place. Through various hands-on activities, participants are able to visualize where societal issues come from and brainstorm new ways to respond in order to reach sustainable, long-term change.
