Current Education and Support Groups for People with Disabilities and their Families
For youth and adults with developmental disabilities
JCFS is able to offer a variety of groups. Each group focuses on a specific skill set, all groups emphasize developing peer relationships, practicing reciprocal conversation and learning from the experience of others. The menu of groups includes:
- Financial Literacy/Money Management
- Dating Skills/Healthy Relationships
- Anger Management
- Building Resilience/Coping Skills
- Speak Up For Yourself
- Cooking Skills/Dinner Club
- Conversation Skills and Current Events
- Conversation Skills and Crafts
Groups may be offered in West Rogers Park, Skokie or Northbrook depending on interest and facilitator availability. Home Based Waiver funding may be used for some groups. The Future is Now!
Time and Location TBA
A futures planning group for parents of adult children with disabilities. This group gives caretakers the opportunity to meet and socialize with other parents while planning out the future for their loved ones with disabilities.
