Sibshops are awesome celebrations of the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of children with special needs.
These events acknowledge the challenges and rewards sisters and brothers face on a daily basis, and allow siblings from many families to meet in relaxed, supportive and recreational settings. Sibshops for children, and Teen Sibshops for adolescents, allow young people a safe space to share their common joys and concerns while enjoying fun activities.
Sibshops are currently offered one Sunday afternoon each month in Northbrook. Teen Sibshops are offered as requested.
Upcoming 2017 dates: October 22, November 12, December 17
See calendar for more details.
Sibshops take place between 2:30-5:30pm at the JCFS Northbrook office.
JCFS utilizes the Sibshop model developed by Don Meyer of Sibling Support Project. For more detailed information about Sibshops, visit the national Sibshop website.
