ECCIL Sponsors TV Tune Out Event
By Karen F Spivey

Tune Out Week is a week-long event (March 1-7, 2009) signifying a community effort involving families, schools, organizations and merchants. TV Tune Out sponsors offer a wide variety of “TV-alternate” activities, enabling children to enjoy the benefit of community, by seeing many other kids “tuning out,” while being introduced to new skills, hobbies and crafts. The event also allows families the opportunity to evaluate the role that television plays in their lives.

In keeping with the theme of preschool and early childhood education, TV Tune Out Sponsor, ECCIL is delighted to host the Bubble Man, Geoff Akins, taking soap and water to a whole new level with his creative bubble show. Bubble Man will be at ECCIL on Thursday, March 5th between 4:00 – 5:00pm, captivating audiences of all ages with his magical and mesmerizing talent!

“This is a fantastic opportunity for children and parents to enjoy the week of TV TUNE OUT and experience a very simple concept, bubbles, a sensory activity that no matter your age, enthralls you,” remarked ECCIL Director, Kathy Marquardt. “Parents will be delighted with this fun, free activity,” she continued.
