Alan's Story

With the recent loss of his wife, Alan was feeling depressed and isolated himself from family and friends. His granddaughter wanted to spend time with him, but he turned everyone away. After reaching out to the Jewish Healing Network of Chicago, Alan is learning coping skills through grief support groups and is reconnecting with his family and friends.

JCFS to Target Jewish Tween Girls with New Planning Grant from Jewish Women’s Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago  

Jewish Women’s Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (JWF) approved a new $20,000 grant to Jewish Child & Family Services (JCFS) to develop a community response to the needs of Jewish pre-teen girls. With this program, “BeTween: A Jewish Community Planning Initiative,” JCFS will spearhead a community response addressing the needs of Jewish girls, during one of the most critical and vulnerable times of their development.
