When Sara entered 6th grade her grades plummeted and she became reluctant to go to school, Sara's parents sought help from JCFS. Psychological testing revealed a learning disorder and intense anxiety. JCFS psychologists recommended targeted strategies at home and at school and Sara is now enjoying academic and social success.

Jewish Women’s Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago (JWF) approved a new $20,000 grant to Jewish Child & Family Services (JCFS) to develop a community response to the needs of Jewish pre-teen girls. With this program, “BeTween: A Jewish Community Planning Initiative,” JCFS will spearhead a community response addressing the needs of Jewish girls, during one of the most critical and vulnerable times of their development.
