Professional & Community Training

The principles of trauma-informed care propose that human service organizations must be trauma-informed not just for service recipients, but for agency staff as well. An ethically attuned practitioner needs to be present with their minds, their hearts and their spirits. Yet often times working with interpersonal violence and trauma can cause practitioners to experience symptoms themselves. It is during these times that staff can lose a sense of attunement to their own needs and those of their clients.
