Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a public education program for nonprofessionals

Mental Health First Aid is an eight hour course that teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. It is an important tool for friends and family members to know how to deal with loved ones living with anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder and many other mental health conditions. Certification requires attendance at both 4-hour sessions (01/28 + 02/04).

Nechama is for grievers and their loved ones who have experienced a death over the past six months. This workshop will provide information on the grieving process and coping skills as well as how Judaism helps the bereaved. 

Participants will  learn about the grief process, coping mechanisms, different grieving styles and how to gain and receive support from friends and family.
