Sibshops offer brothers and sisters of children with special needs an opportunity to meet other siblings in a relaxed, supportive, and recreational setting. Participants share common joys, common concerns, and learn to handle sibling-specific "sticky situations." Sibshops are a mix of games, discussion, food, and fun!  Registration is per Sibshop.

Sibshops are currently offered one Sunday afternoon each month in Northbrook. Teen Sibshops are offered as requested.

You think you want to raise an “emotionally healthy boy” but what does that mean? What is emotional health? What should you do? Do you buy him dolls, teach him to cook? What if other kids make fun of him? Why does it feel so hard, and sometimes so wrong? Learn about the “man box” and what parents and community can do to break boys and men out of it.

Sponsored and hosted by North Shore Congregation Israel.

Facilitated by Rabbi Lisa Greene and Tracey Lipsig Kite, LCSW

As the neighborhood festivals wind down, outdoor patios close, and beach-goers head inside, we begin to store away our summer clothes and prepare for the colder months. Winter time is filled with hot chocolate, snowflakes, and the holidays—a time for giving.
