Loss is an inevitable part of life. But it can throw you off balance and create much stress for you, your family and other loved ones. The experience leaves you coping with new territory. The Jewish Healing Network of Chicago is here to support you during your time of bereavement, offering the comfort of human connection, the spiritual support of Jewish Tradition and a sense of community that is so important when your sorrow can be deep and overwhelming.
Our services and programs provide critical support to members of the Jewish community, including information about social services, medical resources and spiritual resources that can be helpful as you grieve. We also call upon the richness of Torah texts, along with Jewish ritual and liturgy, to provide healing and comfort, and we bring people together in support groups, so that they can lean on one another for resiliency and hope.
Programs are infused with Jewish Values:
- Nechama - A class for the newly bereaved called “To comfort the Bereaved among us”, Learn what you might expect as you travel the road of grief, and what tools might help you through
- Counseling for you and your family where you can get the support you need to manage your grief
- Pastoral Counseling with our experienced, staff Rabbi
- Loss specific support groups facilitated by an expert in the grieving process here at JCFS or at CJE SeniorLife
